HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Webster County Sheriff’s Office says a man is facing charges following an accident on I-69 that left three people injured.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Office says crews were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 69 near the 129-mile marker just after 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Authorities say a driver, identified as Nathaniel Keen, of Nortonville, and two passengers were traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when Keen collided with an unoccupied disabled vehicle parked on the shoulder of the interstate. The collision caused the unoccupied vehicle to catch fire. Keen and the two passengers were injured and transported to a hospital in Evansville.

According to a release, authorities discovered evidence that Keen was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the collision. Officials say the investigation is still ongoing, and criminal charges are forthcoming.
