    Gov. Beshear reappoints Owensboro woman to the SCAAC

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Governor Beshear has reappointed an Owensboro woman to a council.

    Jana Francis of Owensboro was reappointed as a member of the School Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability Council (SCAAC) to serve for a term expiring October 4, 2025. Francis is the director of assessment for Daviess County Public Schools and represents assessment coordinators as a member of the council.

    According to the Kentucky Department of Education, the committee’s existence was mandated by Executive Order 2021-729 and was created to study, audit, review and make recommendations concerning Kentucky’s system of academic standards, assessing learning, identifying academic competencies and deficiencies of students, holding schools accountable for learning, and assisting schools to improve their performance.
