    Evansville man accused of breaking in and stealing from a church

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville man is facing burglary charges after he was was accused of breaking into a church.

    Evansville Police say they responded to a burglary in progress at Word of Life Church Saturday morning. The caller says a man with no shirt had broken into the back door of the church.

    Police say they found Mike Mills on the property and placed him in custody. Mills says he had permission to be on the property but later revealed he did not.

    Mills claimed he had done it because he was thirsty and was going to take some bottled waters.

    Mills was charged with burglary and is currently booked at the Vanderburgh County Jail.
