HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Target’s car seat trade in program is set to return.

Starting on September 15 until September 28, people interested can drop off their old car seats at their local Target near the Guest Services area.

In return, participants will receive a 20% off discount on their next car seat, booster seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby gear.

The bonus can be used twice from September 15 through October 12.

First introduced in April 2016, Target says over three million car seats, or 45 million pounds of car seat material have been recycled.

Target also says materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Target’s partners to create new products such as pallets, plastic buckets and construction materials such as steel beams and carpet padding.

Target has a FAQ section on this program for anyone that has questions or can click here .
