Tri-State candidate gets celebrity endorsement

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A Hopkins County candidate for the Kentucky State House received a celebrity endorsement after reaching out on TikTok.

Lloyd Smith is running for the District 4 Seat as the Democratic candidate, going up against incumbent Republican Wade Williams in November. Smith recently reached out to actress Rosie O’Donnell on TikTok to ask for help running in a mostly red state.

O’Donnell responded, endorsing his campaign, wishing him luck running for the house in “deeply red Republican country.” She also told her followers to check him out, and drop a donation if possible.

Williams won the seat in 2022.
