    Luce Fire Captain passes away after year long battle with cancer

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Luce Fire Territory announces the passing of Captain Mark Frederick after his year-long battle with cancer.

    The agency’s announcement comes from a Facebook post Saturday night.

    In the post, the agency says, “Earlier this year facing a battle with cancer, Mark explained that he would fight the fight and with God’s help, he would see how it goes.”

    According to officials, Frederick had been with the Luce Fire Territory since 1999. He was previously a member of Ohio Township in Warrick County and with the Alcoa Fire Department until his retirement. He also held the ranks of Firefighter, Captain, Assistant Fire Chief and Chief of the Department.

    The funeral arrangements is being organized by the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport.
