HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville man is facing charges after allegedly leading law enforcement on a chase, causing property damage along the way.

According to an affidavit, officers responded to a fight before Bobby Dyson was seen driving down a gravel alley at a high speed.

Officers say Dyson’s truck swerved down the alley before crashing into a utility pole and a garage.

The pursuit was said to have continued on foot. Police say they found Dyson hiding under a bush just a short distance from the accident.

When being placed in custody, Dyson said a friend was trying to fight him before police arrived, and began to panic because he apparently recently got off parole.

During a search of the truck, police say they found a scale and a silver marijuana grinder containing a leafy green substance they recognized as marijuana.

    Dyson was charged with:

    • Habitual Traffic Violator
    • Possessing controlled substance
    • Resisting law enforcement
    • Leaving the scene of a crash
    • Reckless driving causing property damage

Dyson is currently being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail.
