HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Former Pigeon Township trustee Mariama Wilson has agreed to change her plea in connection to a theft and kickback scheme.

Wilson was scheduled to go to trial Monday to face charges of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Authorities say Wilson, William Payne and Terrance Hardiman were involved in a kickback scheme to remodel a homeless shelter. Officials say between February 2020 and May 2022, the trustee’s office paid Hardiman approximately $215,371 for the project where Wilson and Payne received about $38,000 as a result of the alleged kickbacks.

According to court documents, Wilson has a hearing scheduled for November 20 in which she is expected to plead guilty. Hardiman previously accepted a plea agreement for his involvement in the scheme in May of 2023.
