Man indicted for murder following deadly Henderson street race

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Commonwealth’s Attorney Herb McKee has confirmed to Eyewitness News that a man has been indicted for wanton murder in connection to a deadly street race on Green Street earlier this year.

Authorities say two cars were racing on Green Street on May 27, and one of the vehicles swerved in front of the other, causing the second car to swerve into oncoming traffic and crash into a third car. One person in the racing car that crashed, identified by officials as Kelly Green, died as a result of that crash.

McKee has confirmed that Korbin Candler was indicted on charges of wanton murder, four counts of wanton endangerment, leaving the scene/failure to render assistance and racing a motor vehicle on a public highway.
