HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to begin an asphalt resurfacing project along 2.5 miles of KY 144 in Daviess County on September 12.

Officials say the project will apply new asphalt to the roadway between a CSX Railroad bridge located at the 2.048 mile point and KY 1389/Jones Road (5 mm). Work will begin on Thursday with base repairs at the 4 mm. The contractor plans to begin milling the roadway and removing pavement markers late next week, with paving to follow. Work near the intersections of U.S. 60 (22.3 mm) and KY 144 will be held until the end of the project.

KYTC plans to reopen KY-136 by end of October

The KYTC says the anticipated completion date is mid-October. Work schedules can be impacted by the weather. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
