HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – This week’s Home Team Friday MVP is Trevor DeLacey of the Owensboro Red Devils. Delacey threw for 185 yards and five touchdowns and carried for 20 yards and another score in a blowout win over Daviess County. It was the first Red Devil win of the season.

This week, DeLacey and Owensboro take on Owensboro Catholic at 7:00 p.m. at Steele Stadium.

“Typically in these situations, you don’t have to say a lot as a coach to have them ready to go in practice,” said Red Devils head coach Jay Fallin. “They’re fired up and enthusiastic. They’ve been looking forward to this one for a year. We talked about [it] in practice yesterday, it’s not like basketball or baseball where you’re going to play them multiple times in a year, you’re going to play them one time per year. So there’s a little bit of extra juice and enthusiasm. You’d like to think that you approach every game the same way but that’s not realistic. When it’s an in-town rivalry game, there is a little bit more on the line.”

“The whole city is going to be [at Steele Stadium],” said DeLacey. “The whole city’s going to be there watching. Last year it was the most people I have seen at Rash Stadium in a long time, I would imagine it is going to be the same thing at Steele Stadium. It’s a great atmosphere and we’re ready for it.”

Highlights from this game can be seen on Home Team Friday on ABC 25 this Friday night at 10:35 p.m.
