HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Evansville Police are urging safe driving tactics after an arrest was made late Tuesday night where a driver was observed allegedly going 108 miles per hour on the Lloyd Expressway.

Authorities say the incident occurred at 9:10 p.m. and the suspect, Caydan Bailey, was seen traveling eastbound on the Lloyd Expressway at 108 miles per hour.

It is said police could not conduct a proper traffic stop until they could catch up to Bailey. Police say they conducted the traffic stop on the southbound US 41 exit ramp.

During the stop, police say they promptly put Bailey in cuffs. When being questioned by police, Bailey said, “I was just being stupid.”

Police say they questioned passengers who say they did not know why Bailey was driving that fast however, they assumed he was trying to show off.

After the arrest, EPD posted on Facebook urging drivers to practice to safe tactics when on the road.

Bailey has been charged with reckless driving at an unreasonable high speed, and booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail.

    He has since been released.
