Central basketball star announces verbal commitment to USI

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Central junior Maddy Shirley has verbally committed to play college basketball at the University of Southern Indiana.

In her sophomore season, Shirley averaged 19.0 points, and 9.0 rebounds per game, aiding the Bears to a 20-6 season.

The rising junior is prepared to join the reigning Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament champion Screaming Eagles during the 2026-27 season.
