HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Walmart is making it easier for caregivers of children and adults with disabilities to shop in Commonwealth stores.

On Thursday, the company introduced Caroline Carts into all Kentucky stores. The carts are designed for caregivers supporting a wide array of people, including those with disabilities, children, seniors and people with injuries or limited mobility. The carts have a seat capacity of 35 to 250 pounds and were developed in 2008 in Alabama, when resident Drew Ann Long realized her child with disabilities would eventually outgrow a standard cart.

Walmart plants to equip all supercenter stores with two Caroline Carts and all Neighborhood Markets with at least one by early 2025.
