NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) – Investigation continues after a bomb squad secures two suspicious packages found outside a Newburgh home.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Paul Kruse tells us at 7:52 a.m.. dispatch received a call about a suspicious package outside of a home in the 4000 block of Briarwood Drive.

It is said around 8:00 a.m., the deputies who responded to the call also believed it to be a suspicious package and requested the assistance of the Evansville Police Department and the bomb squad.

Sheriff Mike Wilder says there was two packages found outside the home and at approximately 2 p.m., it had been secured by the bomb squad. He goes on to tell us this case will be handed over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
