Community comes together to watch the Owensboro Air Show

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — An idea that began in 2012 to bring the community together to celebrate the revitalization of smother’s park has since expanded to a yearly tradition of watching an air show over the Ohio River.

Hundreds of people gathered at the riverfront to cheer on the aircrafts as they soar through the skies displaying some of the U.S.’s most talented pilots in the country.

One Owensboro native Kyler Fannon says this is something he enjoys, and couldn’t ask for a better day in his hometown.

“ It is awesome. It’s a ton of people. It’s awesome. The weather is perfect, the weather worked out for us. The planes are loud. I don’t know what else you could want,” says Fannon

The Owensboro Air Show brought back the us navy blue angels- a first since 2012.
