HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Owensboro. It is said a suspect has cooperatively identified himself to police.

According to a release, deputies responded to a disturbance report Sunday morning on the 3500 block of East 10th Street in Owensboro.

Authorities say when they arrived, they found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound to the chest. It is said they attempted life saving measures and the victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies say a person on the scene identified himself as the shooter and is cooperating with detectives. He has since been taken to the Sheriff’s Office along with multiple witnesses to be interviewed.

Investigators say they believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

    This is a developing story.
