Woman charged with attempted murder in Jasper

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder after an incident in Jasper on Sunday morning.

Police say dispatch received calls about a man with blood on his clothing and a head injury.

While looking for the man, police say he called 911 to report Clara Whippo hit him with a metal object and he was suffering from a head injury.

Officers say the man was taken to a hospital.

According to a news release, police found Whippo thanks to a K9 officer.

Whippo was charged with attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, aggravated battery, neglect of an animal and criminal trespass.

Police did not release the name of the victim.

omggggg. I've seen this girl around jasper working at a few different places. always seemed extremely nice but I know she's struggled in the past. very unfortunate for those involved. yikes 😳
