HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A student at Mitchell Junior High scored the touchdown of a lifetime.

During a game between Perry Central and Mitchell Junior High, Colton Harkness was given the opportunity to score a touchdown.

Colton’s mother Kelsey Harkness  told Eyewitness News he was born at 23 weeks weighing one pound four ounces. He has had five surgeries since birth and has had several physical therapy appointments.

In Saturday’s game, he was not only able to score a touchdown, but his mother says he went the farthest he had ever walked without any assistance.

His mother says Colten has been telling everyone he runs into that he’s scored a touchdown.
