HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Daviess County Sheriff Brad Youngman has identified the man killed in a shooting at the Ownesboro Knights of Columbus Hall on Sunday.

Authorities say a fight broke out at a party held at the Knights of Columbus between multiple guests. Security guards attempted to break up the fight, and they encountered a man who was armed with a gun. One security guard fired his weapon striking the man.

On Monday, Sheriff Youngman identified the deceased as 21-year-old Nelson Castillo, who authorities say resided in Utica. Deputies say the shooting was captured on video by several witnesses at the scene.

Authorities listed Castillo’s primary cause of death as homicide. Two guns were recovered from the scene, one reportedly fired by a security guard and one authorities say was recovered from Castillo.
