HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Newburgh Police Department is investigating a report of shots fired that occurred Monday.

A press release obtained by Eyewitness News says it happened at around 5:14 a.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Jefferson Street. The release goes on to say that a search of the area was conducted, but the suspects left prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

No homes were shot in the incident, but a parked car window was struck. Police say a witness states two vehicles were involved, and its possible they were shooting at each other.

Officials with the Newburgh Police Department urge residents that live in the area to check their home security footage. They ask those with any information related to the incident to contact authorities.

Eyewitness News has reached out to law enforcement. This is a developing story.
