Driver seriously hurt when vehicle crashes with tree, overturns

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Vanderburgh County deputies are investigating a crash on Old Mt. Vernon Road that left one with serious injuries.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office states deputies were dispatched at 4:44 p.m. to the 9800 block of said road for a single vehicle accident. Officials state arriving deputies saw a vehicle upside down, and conclude that the vehicle was traveling west on Old Mt. Vernon Road when it went off the right side of the road, hit a tree and overturned.

Officials say the driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries while two passengers were transported with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
