Police say intoxicated suspect stabbed man during assault

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Madisonville Police say one man was arrested on Thursday night after he allegedly stabbed another man in the 600 block of Scott Street.

Officers were dispatched to the address at approximately 9:45 p.m. in reference to a male attempting to stab another male. At the scene, police say individuals at the scene identified Steven Campbell, 42, as the suspect. Police say they also located an injured man who said he needed an ambulance.

The injured man told authorities he went to the home about a verbal altercation Campbell had with another individual. He said the two of them went outside, with Campbell brandishing a knife. He said he tried to get away, but he fell, and Campbell began stabbing his arm.

Authorities say Campbell was intoxicated at the time of his arrest. He has been charged with assault and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
