Keanu Reeves makes professional racing debut this weekend at IMS Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS — Keanu Reeves, the actor behind hit films such as “The Matrix” and “John Wick,” is making his professional auto racing debut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend.

Reeves will be behind the wheel of the No. 92 Eagles Canyon Racing Toyota GR86 during the GR Cup Series races scheduled for this weekend. While the races are part of the Indianapolis 8 Hour event, the cup races are separate from the eight-hour endurance race.

Reeves shared a message on social media giving thanks for the opportunity to race in the GR Cup at IMS this weekend.

Reeves does enter his professional debut with some experience behind the wheel, having raced in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in the celebrity race. Reeve’s even came away victorious in 2009.

The first GR Cup race at IMS is scheduled for 9:50 a.m. on Saturday with the second GR Cup race scheduled for 11:55 a.m. on Sunday.
