HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Police say someone was pretending to be a police officer and attempted to stop a vehicle in Evansville on Saturday night.

Officers were sent to Old Bridge Court around 10:30.

According to a police report, a woman said she came home to find a black, older model Dodge Charger sitting in the road.

Police say the Charger pulled in front of the woman’s vehicle and blocked her.

The woman told police that a police-type spotlight mounted to the vehicle was turned on and directed in her face.

Police say the man demanded her ID and registration. When the woman said she was going to call 911, police say the man apologized and said he was just messing around.

Officers say the suspect had facial hair and was wearing a dirty, button-up work uniform shirt that had the name “Jaybird” on the chest.
