HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Warrick Humane Society is going to be taking in 25 to 30 animals that are being evacuated following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene as part of partnering with the Best Friends Animal Society.

As a result, the shelter is asking for emergency fosters for animals currently at the shelter to make space for the incoming animals.

Officials say one can fill out a foster application on the shelter’s website prior to coming and put “emergency foster” under the animal name to help.

The shelter is also asking for donations for the effort.

“This will be a huge undertaking for our shelter,” officials said. “We need financial assistance to cover the cost of unknown vetting expenses, medications and vaccines needed for such a large intake all at once.”
