EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Today marks the beginning of the Indiana High School Athletic Association postseason in soccer. Every pass deflection or shot now carries more weight as one could decide the fate of their season.

Sectional soccer is here and the first round of quarterfinals is in effect. At Memorial High School, Jasper takes on North.

In the 15th minute, North’s Izzy Happe takes a shot saved by Joselin Miranda. Just a minute later, Happe crosses to Brooke Silva who scores. North 1, Jasper 0.

Wildcats don’t go away, Katherine Woebkenberg shoots from outside box, saved by Olivia Helming.

In the 30th minute, Happe’s shot is deflected and off of the crossbar.

In the 2nd half, Jasper’s shot is saved on the goal line by Anna Briscoe to keep it out.

North keeps the shut out, a big result in a high pressure situation.
