Temporary closure of KY 85 bridge at Hopkins-McLean County line

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials say repairs to the KY 85 Pond River Bridge at the Hopkins-McLean county line northeast of Madisonville will require a temporary 15-day closure of the bridge this month.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) says beginning October 15, contractors will close the KY 85 bridge near milepoint 7.5 to replace the concrete bridge deck and make other repairs. The bridge is expected to reopen by October 30, depending upon weather.

Officials say during the temporary closure, motorists may detour using KY 254, KY 862 or other routes. A signed detour will be posted.
