Rockport authorities host hide-and-seek game

ROCKPORT, Ind. (WEHT) – Dozens meet in downtown Rockport to be chased by law enforcement.

The game of hide-and-seek was played for a good cause. The city of Rockport is raising money for an ice skating rink at its upcoming Christmas on the Rock festival on December 7.

Since February, people worked to raise a couple of thousand dollars so families can enjoy using a rink free of charge.

For an hour, people hid on the streets as Rockport officers and Spencer County deputies searched.

The police chief and his grandson canvassed the city park, which proved to be a popular hiding place.

People interested in donating to the ice rink may stop by City Hall between Mondays and Thursdays.
