HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The West Side Nut Club has issued a statement regarding the rumors of the half pot being “unfair.”

This year’s West Side Nut Club’s Fall Festival has concluded, and a winning number was announced for the record-breaking half pot.

And yet, the legitimacy of the half pot has been called to question throughout social media.

On Sunday morning, officials with WSNC took to Facebook to pen a statement surrounding the legitimacy of the half pot.

Officials say Indiana law allows for the half pot winner to remain anonymous just like any other Indiana lottery. They also say they try to be as “transparent as possible” when posting donations to different organizations.

They go on to say, “We love the Evansville and outlying community and have supported the area for over 103 years. The relationship and trust we have developed over the decades with the community is one that we would never jeopardize. It is that partnership that has allowed us to put on one of the best Fall Festivals in the United States.”

The WSNC encourages those who felt the organization has operated unfairly to contact the Indiana Gaming Commission at this website .

The next WSNC Fall Festival is slated for October 6 to 11.
