EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Almost every year, people find themselves walking through rain to get a taste of all the food offered at the Westside Nut Club’s Fall Festival. This year was different, with five days of sunny skies, each booth raised money for a cause they are passionate about.

While higher ingredient costs forced some booths to change their prices to match, Catalyst Church Pastor David Whitmore said they haven’t changed theirs in five years, and higher foot traffic offset the cost of doing so. Roger Rogge of the Marian Educational Outreach booth said they had to enlist a few more volunteers to keep up with the overflow.

Eyewitness News Reporter Sydney Davis was live at the Fall Festival last week to report on how booths were able to provide both more good food and more money for good causes. You can view her report in the video player above.

I spent 60.00 on food at the WSNC festival. We threw most of it in the trash. It wasn't fit to eat. Some was even disgusting.I got corn on the cob,it was way overcooked and mushy, chicken and dumplings from booth 29 tasted like watered down chicken noodles soup, the German bologna sandwich was burnt, cinnamon bun so dried out was tasteless, the only decent thing was the ribeye steak sandwich and the apple cider.Tge rest got thrown in the garbage.Oh yeah the bean soup had hard beans in it.Lesson learned.
