HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Ports of Indiana launched a new venture on Monday to create the largest cargo operation along the Ohio River.

The Indiana River and Rail Terminals will oversee general facilities at ports in Jeffersonville and Mount Vernon. It will manage six docks, six warehouses, multiple transload facilities and logistics services for more than 40 existing customers within the ports’ 2,200 acres of land.

Ports of Indiana is also investigating plans to construct two new rail yards and a $3 million heavy lift crane. Both are expected to arrive in 2025.
