HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The state and defense have rested and closing arguments along with the start of jury deliberations are slated to start in a lengthy murder trial in Warrick County.

Caylin Monroe is facing murder charges after authorities found her three-month-old dead in February 2022.

Authorities state the child died due to starvation.

Monroe admitted to police later that she missed feedings. Court documents say she didn’t take the child to a hospital because she was afraid of having all her children taken away.

Tuesday marks day ten of the trial.

Jakob Scott was also arrested in the case. His trial is scheduled for November 12.

I hear her family thinks she’s innocent and that the baby had some rare disease that made it fail to thrive and its all one big conspiracy, denial is a hell of a thing 🙁
