Central City Police letting citizens know of recent scam

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Central City Police Department is letting citizens know of a recent scam.

Officials state the agency has gotten several complaints of people getting emails stating people have “humiliating” photos or videos, and recipients need to send an amount of money for the alleged content to not be posted to social media.

The department says even the chief has gotten an email of this kind and wants people to know that it is a scam and to not reply or contact any number listed on the emails.
