OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — The help wanted sign goes up for the Owensboro Racing and Gaming facility in Daviess County. A series of job fairs is planned to fill positions for when the gambling venue opens in early 2025.

There will be over 200 jobs available in security, administration and food and beverage.
Venue officials will conduct on the spot interviews and offer conditional job offers.

On Saturday and Sunday, a job fair will be held at the Pumpkin and Pickle Festival. From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., people can come to the cottage on State Road 56.

Two more job fairs are planned later this year at the riverfront’s Hampton Inn and Suites. One will be hosted on Nov. 26 and Dec. 17.

“When we bring on those bartenders and those food and beverage servers and cooks and back of house…that’s going to be probably closer to when we actually open. When we look at bringing on gaming attendance and gaming tax and surveillance operators, we’re going to have to have a little bit more training when it comes to the gaming environment,” says Tracy Lauderdale, the venue’s Senior Director of Human Resources.

Other job fair opportunities will include the PBR rodeo on Oct. 26.
