HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville man is in custody after police they found methamphetamine in his sock.

Authorities say a traffic stop was initiated after they spotted Christopher Tomlinson around 9:04 p.m. riding a bicycle near Garvin Street without a reflector mounted.

Officers say they asked Tomlinson if they could search him, to which he agreed they could.

During the search, officers say they felt a “hard cylindrical object” and a clear plastic baggy with a white, powder-like substance with white crystals in Tomlinson’s sock.

Authorities say the cylindrical object was said to be a glass smoking device and the substance in the baggy tested positive for methamphetamine with traces of cocaine. Tomlinson’s backpack was said to also have a grinder with marijuana inside it as well.

Police say Tomlinson admitted to tensing up and pulling away during the search due to the drug paraphernalia in his possession.

Tomlinson was booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail on several charges including possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, paraphernalia and marijuana. He’s also facing a resisting law enforcement charge.
