North Idaho Highways to Receive a Fresh Coat of Paint Through Summer
COEUR D’ALENE—Throughout the months of July, August and September, Idaho Transportation Department striping crews will be laying down a fresh coat of paint on large sections of highways across the Panhandle. The following schedule will help drivers to be aware of upcoming temporary work zones that may affect them and plan ahead. Every year crews stripe hundreds of miles, and on heavily traveled routes like I-90, apply two coats of paint.

Eastern Idaho librarians implement a variety of methods to comply with new library law
POCATELLO — Librarians across eastern Idaho are using a variety of methods to comply with a law that restricts materials to minors. The law, which was reintroduced a number of times in the Legislature, was passed on April 3 and became enforceable on July 1. It makes it so that anyone can submit a “request for reconsideration” on a library item to have it moved to a section with restricted access to minors, defined as anyone under the age of 18.

Fulbright Scholar Program award given to UI professors
The Fulbright Scholar Program has granted the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to four University of Idaho professors for the 2024-25 academic year. According to its website, the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is the largest fellowship program for U.S. scholars. The program offers “over 400 awards in more than 135 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research, and carry out professional projects around the world.” The Fulbright Program has allowed more than 400,000 professionals from various backgrounds to perform research abroad.
