Domestic violence agencies want guns taken from abusers
Agencies serving victims of domestic violence say they will continue to push for passage of state legislation that would get guns out of the hands of abusers. Representatives of Legal Aid Society, Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence and The Network say they will ramp up efforts to get lawmakers to support the measure after the legislation failed to make it through the Illinois General Assembly this spring.
2nd man given more than 100 years in prison for 2020 Bloomington homicide
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - A second man convicted of a fatal shooting in Bloomington almost four years ago has been sentenced to more than 100 years in prison. Judge William Yoder on Thursday sentenced Kevon Moon, 25, to 103 years behind bars. The McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office recommended a 113-year sentence.

Man sentenced 80 years behind bars for deadly Bloomington shooting in 2022
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A 24-year-old man was sentenced to eight decades in prison earlier this week for his role in a deadly Bloomington shooting two years ago. According to McLean County Circuit Court records, 24-year-old Jaylin Bones was sentenced Tuesday in court to 80 years in prison for the shooting death of then-29-year-old Timothy Manns. Bones was initially charged with one count of first-degree murder with intent to kill or cause great bodily harm, which caused the death of Manns. Bones also faced charges of aggravated battery and discharge of a firearm. Each charge is a felony.
