McLean County's first Narcan vending machine aims to address rising overdose deaths
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Chestnut Health Systems in Bloomington installed the county’s first Narcan, or naloxone, vending machine at their facility in early July. Director of Integrated Community Education Nadia Klekamp said it’s been a long time coming. In 2023, overdose deaths in McLean County jumped by 25%. Half of those deaths involved opioids and nearly all involved fentanyl.
2nd man given more than 100 years in prison for 2020 Bloomington homicide
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - A second man convicted of a fatal shooting in Bloomington almost four years ago has been sentenced to more than 100 years in prison. Judge William Yoder on Thursday sentenced Kevon Moon, 25, to 103 years behind bars. The McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office recommended a 113-year sentence.
