The KKOA Leadsled Spectacular cannot get any smaller. Gene Tweedy of Arizona and his “dwarf” sized 1954 Chevy in Oakdale Park are living proof. Tweedy works alongside the originator of the dwarf car, Ernie “Mr. Dwarf Car” Adams in Maricopa, AZ. “Our dwarf cars are street legal” says Tweedy. He has driven his ’54 Chevy for about 900 miles across the country and caught many eyes at Oakdale park.

Local and area residents did some walking for a worthy cause Saturday — and they took pictures with pets for another. Leap of Faith Martial Arts student Hannah Henderson organized the Corky’s Cupboard Walkathon to generate funds and food for Emporia State University’s on-campus food pantry. She tells KVOE News her transfer from Emporia State to Iowa State opened her eyes to how much food is needed to be comfortable and how little food money can buy.
