WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – Wellsville police are looking into theft allegations with a little league baseball organization in town.

Lt. Marsha Eisenhart said that the department received complaints from parents a couple of weeks ago alleging theft of funds from the Wellsville Youth Baseball League.

The league’s bank account was empty, which is unusual because there is always a carryover to get the league started the following season, Eisenhart said.

The Wellsville Police Department is in the process of getting subpoenas for the league’s bank records, and former officers for the league were replaced at an emergency meeting last week.

Eisenhart said the new league members are bonded and will be audited with several checks and balances in place.

    The investigation is ongoing.
