Popular and fast-growing sandwich mega-franchise Jimmy John’s is preparing to expand its footprint in west Central Florida . The company has signed a five-unit agreement with a local franchisee who is preparing to launch the first Jimmy John’s in Wesley Chapel , at 5478 Post Oak Blvd .

For new Jimmy John’s franchisee, Wesley Chapel local, and longtime food professional Eric Edmonds , it may be the first Jimmy John’s, but it’s by no means his first rodeo.

“I started out in hospitality at 15, at Panera,” Edmonds told What Now on Thursday, describing a work life spent building experience with fast-casual and sitdown franchises, both as an employee and as a franchisee.

“I wanted something faster: no sitdown, no alcohol. And when I started going to Jimmy John’s, it just blew my mind how, by the time I put my card back in wallet, the sandwich was already done.”

Edmonds says he considered a number of different concepts in his search for the right investment, but ultimately landed on Jimmy John’s because of its convenience and quality.

“I just kept going there, because of how fast and good it was. The bread is great, baked fresh every day. The meat and vegetables are all sliced fresh every day.”

Jimmy John’s offers a selection of satisfying sandwiches like the Italian Night Club ( salami, capocollo, ham & provolone ) and the Beach Club ( turkey, provolone & avocado spread ). Meatless diners can also enjoy The Veggie with provolone, avocado spread, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, and mayo—and the menu is constantly evolving.

It’s the kind of concept Edmonds thinks will serve Wesley Chapel well.

“I grew up in Wesley Chapel,” he says. “I was in this town back when it had so many open fields, and I’ve watched it become what it is now. I’m really excited to be back to owning a business, serving an amazing product, and giving back to the community that helped mold me into the person I am today.”

Edmonds says the local Jimmy John’s has plans to support and partner with local schools, youth athletics, and other institutions to serve the community.
