One truck rear-ends another near Custer, 1 dead
CUSTER, S.D. - Two trucks were involved in a crash at the intersection of Carroll Creek Road and US 385 in Custer County on Wednesday morning, killing a 24-year-old man. The driver of a 2017 Freightliner M2 Medium Duty truck was traveling northbound on US 385 at the intersection of Carroll Creek Road at 10:30 a.m. At the same time, the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Express G2500 truck was also northbound on US 385, approaching the intersection.

Local High School Rodeo Stars Place at National Finals
BELLE FOURCHE—The team of Rance Bowden and Sern Weishaar of Belle Fourche, SD made an impressive showing in the team roping at the 2024 National High School Finals Rodeo, held in Rock Springs, WY, July 14 through July 20. They ended up 5th in the nation with 25 total seconds over three rounds of roping. Bowden and Weishaar ended the 1st go around in 14th place, with a 7.4 second catch. They were 22nd in the 2nd go around with a 9.82 run, and turned in a 7.78 second run in the short go to end up 6th place in the round.
Cheerleaders to Represent Belle Fourche at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
BELLE FOURCHE— Seven Belle Fourche cheerleaders have been chosen to represent the town in the prestigious Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City this year: Luclia Merjil, Hunter Brown, Amayah Gomez, Selene Walker, Aubrey Wilson, Julie Swanson, and Chelsea Zinke, along with their coaches Michaela Horn and Lacey Doyle. This will mark the fourth time that Belle Fourche cheerleaders will participate in the iconic event.
