    How to shuttle, bike or ride the bus to the 2024 Wisconsin State Fair

    The Wisconsin State Fair is preparing to return to West Allis in August. The fair, which starts on the first of the month and runs through Aug. 11, will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday.

    How do you get to the State Fair? Where's the best place to park? Are any shuttles operating this year? Here's everything you need to know.

    Where is the Wisconsin State Fair?

    The Wisconsin State Fair is in West Allis at 640 S. 84th St. It's located near the interchange of I-94 and I-41/US-45. You can find directions here.

    Are shuttles running to the Wisconsin State Fair?

    Yes, fairgoers can take a shuttle to the grounds. Shuttles run independently from the Wisconsin State Fair and have their own schedules and hours of operation. Here's a list of participating shuttles:

    Can I take the bus to the Wisconsin State Fair?

    Yes, local routes to the State Fair Park will be available.

    • Route 18 (National Avenue): Buses travel downtown along National Avenue and Greenfield Avenue and arrive at State Fair at either 81th Street or 84 Street.
    • Route 33 (Vliet-84th): Buses travel along Vliet Street, Glenview Avenue and 84th Street and arrive at Greenfield Avenue.

    The State Fair Shuttle between Waukesha County and the Wisconsin State Fair will not be operating for the 2024 fair due to a driver shortage.

    Where can I park my car at the Wisconsin State Fair?

    Parking is $15 per car and $8 per motorcycle. Parking is available at the following gates:

    • Gate 1: At West Greenfield Avenue and South 79th Street
    • Gate 7: At Kearney Street between South 84th & South 76th streets
    • Gate 9: At West Pierce Street and South 76th Street.

    Accessible parking costs $15 per vehicle and is available at these gates:

    • Gate 1: At West Greenfield Avenue and South 79th Street
    • Gate 7: At West Kearney Street (between South 84th and South 76th streets)

    Preferred parking is available for $25 per vehicle near the Main Stage Entrance at Gate 1 and near the UScellular Main Entrance via Gate 7

    Where can I park my bicycle at the Wisconsin State Fair?

    Milwaukee's Hank Aaron State Trail will close between South 76th Street and South 89th Street for two weeks during the State Fair. If you're still planning on biking the the grounds, you can find free bicycle parking at the following gates:

    • UScellular Main Entrance-located on Adler St. near I-94
    • South Entrance A- located at Greenfield Ave. & S. 81st Street.

    Can you leave State Fair and come back on the same day?

    Yes, but you'll need a hand stamp before you exit. Vehicles that leave the parking lot can't re-enter without paying for parking again. Ticket sales and State Fair entry end one hour before State Fair closes. Re-entry hand stamps end two hours before State Fair closes.

    How much does a ticket cost to get into State Fair?

    • Adults (12 & over): $18
    • Seniors (60 & over): $13
    • Military and veterans with ID: $13
    • Youth (ages 6-11): $13
    • Children (5 & under): Free
