Prattville moves to condemn church-owned property for road improvements
PRATTVILLE − The City of Prattville has started condemnation proceedings on three parcels of land to make way for improvements of one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares. The City Council approved the moves during Tuesday night’s meeting. The matter will now go to the Autauga County Probate Court, where a fair market value of the parcels will be decided and the city will pay those prices for the land.
North Alabama honors Father of the Blues with annual W.C. Handy Music Festival
The W.C. Handy Music Festival is returning to the Shoals. Music fans will join together by the thousands for the biggest tourism event in North Alabama. The festival boasts over 250 events and artists, spanning all across northwest Alabama. This includes Florence, Tuscumbia, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield and more. The events kick off on Thursday, July 18 and conclude Sunday, July 28, making for 11 days of events for every type of music-lover.
