The US Navy is once again demonstrating that it’s at the forefront of the domestic advanced manufacturing landscape, with Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro on July 22 announcing the Michigan Maritime Manufacturing (M3) Initiative. At a press conference at Macomb Community College, alongside other policymakers including Governor of Michigan Meg Whitmer, Secretary Del Toro introduced a plan that includes over $50 million in near term investments into Michigan’s manufacturing sector.

Man Seriously Hurt in Crawford County ATV Crash
A Roscommon man suffered serious injuries in an ATV crash on Sunday in Crawford County’s West Branch Township. Police say the 42-year-old man was driving on Leline Road around 8:00 P.M. with his 23-year-old son, who was driving an ATV as well. According to police, the elder man was driving behind the younger man and began speeding up. According to police, the son veered left but was unable to move out of the way and the father crashed into the rear end of the other ATV. The older man was thrown from the vehicle, which landed on top of him. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
