    MassDOT worker killed while cleaning up debris in West Bridgewater

    MassDOT worker hit and killed by car in Massachusetts 00:25

    WEST BRIDGEWATER – A MassDOT worker died Saturday night after they were hit by a vehicle while cleaning up debris along Route 24 in West Bridgewater.

    It happened around 9:30 p.m. near Exit 28B on Route 24 North.

    According to Massachusetts State Police, the worker was cleaning up debris outside of their vehicle when he was hit.

    On Sunday, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz identified the worker as 57-year-old David Sousa.

    All northbound lanes were closed from 10:30 p.m. to 1:20 a.m. while police investigated the crash.

    Police said the driver who hit the MassDOT worker stayed on scene.

    It is not clear if the driver is facing any charges.

    No further details are currently available.
