Driver in stolen SUV trying to escape traffic stop hits four pedestrians, multiple cars
CHICAGO (CBS) — A police officer and an 8-year-old were among five people injured after a driver in a stolen car tried to get away from police in Brighton Park Monday night. Police said officers stopped a black SUV in an alley in the 2500 block of West 46th Street around 11:30 p.m. The driver reversed in the SUV into the police car. The driver continued down the alley and hit two more cars and four pedestrians, including three women and an 8-year-old girl, while trying to escape. An officer was also injured in the incident.The three women and the officer were taken to local hospitals.The 8-year-old was treated at the scene.One person has been arrested.
Man, 61, violently robbed in the Loop
CHICAGO - A 61-year-old man was attacked and robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning in the Loop. The man was on the sidewalk around 2:46 a.m. when four suspects got out of a dark-colored vehicle, one of them armed with a gun, and demanded his money and phone in the first block of North LaSalle Street, police said.

Using handguns, the assailants demanded valuables such as wallets, cellphones, purses, and even vehicles.
Man arrested after driving drunk, crashing into McAdam Landscaping
On July 18, police were dispatched to McAdam Landscaping after a car ran into the company’s fence while the business was closed. The man who crashed into the fence along Des Plaines Avenue left the car on, a handgun on the driver’s seat and immediately fled from his vehicle, according to the police report. After patrolling the area, police found a man lying in a nearby flower bed and took him into custody for the crash. His breath smelled of alcohol and he had slurred speech, according to police. The man was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, having an expired license, leaving the scene with property damage, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
