Family and friends of the 28-year-old man killed in a crash last Saturday held a vigil to call for justice.Ricardo "Ricky" Resendez Jr. was on his way home from work at the airport at about 1:30 p.m. when Houston police said Rigo Vivar drove his Chevy Tahoe the wrong way on Canal Street. Resendez, who was just a block away from home, was turning onto North Live Oak Street and was hit. A former nurse at Houston Methodist Hospital has lost her license and been sentenced for stealing drugs at work, charging documents revealed.The video above is from ABC13's 24/7 livestream.ABC13 first reported on 25-year-old Alexis McNeilly last December after police accused her of stealing drugs like fentanyl and hydromorphone at work.RELATED: Former Houston Methodist nurse out of jail amid allegations she stole and used opioids while at workAccording to District Attorney Kim Ogg, McNeilly would swap the empty drug vials with salt water and return them to be dispensed.Prosecutors say surveillance video showed her stealing the drugs at least 11 times.On Tuesday, McNeilly pleaded guilty to two counts of diversion of a controlled substance and was taken into custody. She has been sentenced to 120 days in the Harris County jail, and four years of probation.

One Houston resident was suspicious of the city's "all plastic accepted" recycling program, and used AirTags to discover where the plastic waste actually ended up. Brandy Deason, who regularly recycles her packaging and other waste, began to have doubts about the city's plastic recycling program. Houston's program boasted of being able to accept even types of plastic that aren't normally considered recyclable. — Curious as to where the plastic was going, she bought a set of AirTags, and included them in various bags of her plastic recycling. Of the bags she tracked, nearly all of them went to a company called Wright Waste Management, located in nearby Harris County.

90-year-old veteran dies after getting shot and ran over during robbery in SW Houston, police say
Police are looking for the man they say fatally shot and ran over a 90-year-old man outside a southwest Houston assisted living facility Saturday afternoon.Police confirm the victim is a veteran who lived at Lone Star Living in the 10600 block of Westbrae Parkway.Those who knew him told ABC13 that he served in the Navy.Investigators say they reviewed surveillance video, which showed a young man approaching the victim at around 12:45 p.m.In the surveillance video, the two are seen talking when police say the suspect began assaulting the victim.Police said the suspect then shot the victim before getting into the victim's car and running the victim over.The victim later died at the hospital.Police confirm they found the victim's vehicle at an apartment complex in the 22500 block of Dunlap Street, about three miles from the initial scene.At this point, they have no leads on the suspect, who they believe was acting alone.Officials confirmed Sunday that the suspect is between 25-30 years old.Police are asking anyone with information to contact HPD's homicide unit at 713-308-3600.
