Dino’s Bar & Grill, the West Des Moines Italian restaurant that changed into a sports bar last year, closed. The restaurant sits in a strip mall with neighboring outposts such as Chicken Coop and Chowrastha Indian Grill & Eatery.

The restaurant originally opened in June 2016 in the former Kabab House space at 5962 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines with Mike Stanley, from the former Raccoon River Brewing Co. in downtown Des Moines, as the chef. Dino Coppi, whose main businesses is construction, owned the eponymous restaurant.

Italian dishes such as ziti with a cream sauce and meatballs, seafood nachos, steak de Burgo, and pizzas were on the menu over the years.

In 2017, Leslie and Jeremy Brittain bought the restaurant, then sold it to Tim Cooper last year.

Cooper gave the restaurant more of a sports bar vibe with more burgers and sandwiches, keeping three pasta dishes on the menu.
